a table lamp that becomes a work space

Werklicht is an answer to the demand for a closable space in the living room to work in a quiet way. Normally Werklicht is a lamp above the dining table, by letting down the rings it creates an enclosed igloo shaped working space.

Werklicht is constructed of five plastic rings that let through light, but not the view. The inner ring is attached to the ceiling, the outer ring is suspended from four thin cables.

By a simple system of overlapping details the rings slide in or stack on each other when the lamp is increased or decreased.
