Installation building creates public space
The Waterhub delivers sustainable heat to residents in the south of Rotterdam. In addition, it creates a new public space along a public promenade.
The output of the installation machine is represented in the form of a 16 meter high waterfall, visible from the water and the renewed port district Katendrecht.
The Waterhub is cladded with black expanded metal, in such a way that the contours of the pumping station and water tank become visible. The inner workings of the machine is revealed by an open angle at the main street.
